A front door, for example, is more prone to damage and scuffs than a ceiling, so each may call for a different finish.<\/p>\n\n\n  <blockquote class=\"widget widget--blockquote widget--wide\">\n    \n    \u201cIn general, the higher the sheen, the more durable and washable the finish will be. Or a stay in a beautiful Airbnb? Which is how I stumbled across this gem!<\/p><p>Welcome to a former Baptist chapel dating back to 1912, in the little village of Fide, around 5 km north of Burgsvik in southern Gotland. Today, it&#8217;s a much-loved family summer home, which the owners also rent out as an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blogger.com\/blog\/post\/edit\/2783871829596017127\/3915361786014362746#\">Airbnb<\/a>. And it&#8217;s not hard to see why it&#8217;s become a guest favourite! Sleeping up to eight guests, the property is surrounded by beautiful countryside, with lovely cycling routes, a beach just 2 km away and its very own pool!<\/p><p>Inside, the chapel has been transformed into a wonderfully relaxed home, with soaring ceilings, wood-panelled walls, colourful patterned floors, vintage furniture and quirky artwork. I love the slightly eclectic mix, which feels so personal and full of character. It\u2019s a perfect fit for the homeowner, Fenn, a show jumper who\u2019s been riding since she was seven. She boards her horses nearby, and often hosts family and friends at her home, dubbed Attingham Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When she hired <a href=\"https:\/\/jackcreasydesign.com\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">designer Jack Creasy<\/a> for the renovation, Fenn was eager to fold in <a href=\"https:\/\/houseandhome.com\/videos\/jack-creasy-victorian-farmhouse\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/houseandhome.com\/videos\/jack-creasy-victorian-farmhouse\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">equestrian touches<\/a> that reflected her passion but didn\u2019t go overboard. \u201cWe didn\u2019t want horse wallpaper!\u201d says Jack with a laugh.
